Approach to Counseling

This information briefly describes a few of the approaches I use for counseling. Although I use these particular approaches frequently, I get to know each person before deciding which direction would be best, so the counseling experience is tailor-made for each person's unique needs.

Solution-Focused Brief Therapy

Solution‑Focused Brief Therapy is an approach that helps you notice your strengths and build on what’s already working in your life. This approach gently guides you toward small, meaningful steps that move you closer to the future you want. Many people find it empowering because it focuses on hope, possibilities, and your natural ability to create change

Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy &

Cognitive Behavior Therapy

Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy and Cognitive Behavior Therapy work together to offer clear, practical ways to understand and improve your well‑being. REBT helps you identify unhelpful beliefs and replace them with more supportive, realistic ones, while CBT guides you in noticing how your thoughts, feelings, and actions intersect so you can make meaningful changes. Together, they create a structured tangible path toward feeling more grounded, capable, and in control of your life.

3

Spiritually Integrated Psychotherapy

Spiritually Integrated Psychotherapy is an approach that honors your beliefs and values as an important part of your well-being. It helps you explore the role your religion and spirituality influence your well-being. This approach weaves together the bio-psycho-social-spiritual strategy to attend to the holist needs of each person within the scope of mental health counseling.
